Setup

These exercises start with a grid on the field, materialized by pancakes.

Move around small squares

Small squares

With 12 players, you need at least a 4x4 square and 25 cones to signage these squares.

There can only be one player per square. Players cannot move between squares with the ball.

The goal is to complete a set number of passes, or progress the ball from one side of the grid to the opposite side of the grid.

Variations

  • A player cannot receive the ball twice in row in the same square. - i.e. After a player pass the ball, he must move to an free square.
  • Add more or less aggressive opposition

One team per square

one team per square

There is one team (of 3) per square. Players pass the ball while staying within their square. When the coach identifies a team (see variations), that team defends.

The goal is for the defending team to recover the ball from the 3 other teams and bring the ball back to its square within 30 seconds.

Variations

  • coach identifies rectangle shouting "blue", "red", "yellow", "orange"
  • coach identifies rectangle by showing a jersey up in the air
