Setup

The best for these drills is to have access to a regular sized goal, and the 18-yard penalty area. When not available, multiple mini-goals can be used.

Coaches look for technical accuracy in the drill.

Receive, turn and shoot

A player makes a throw-in from the buildout line to a striker that stands about 5m away. The striker has his back facing the goal. The striker must control the ball, turn and shoot.

Variations

  1. Constraint the number of touches from the striker
  2. Add a goal keeper (requires each group to go in a predefined sequence)
  3. Add a defender marking the striker
  4. Start with the Striker behind the defender
  5. Long throw-ins
